As we come to the end of a year that has been filled with uncertainty and worry, it is no wonder that this has provoked feelings of stress and anxiety amongst many people struggling with the lack of control in our everyday lives, created by the current pandemic. With the loss of daily routines for many people, an increase in mental health issues such as anxiety and depression appear to becoming a common part of the everyday modern life in such unstable times. As the pandemic continues, it is important to remember to schedule in weekly activities to manage stress and positively influence both your mental and physical wellbeing.
Regular practice of activities that involve movement of the body are effective in being key releasers of stress and stuck emotions, it can be effective in rebalancing our bodies in our everyday lives. Techniques such as yoga and practising mindfulness can have a calming effect on individuals through improving focus, caring for your mind and body and can help immensely to reduce stress and anxiety. This is more important than ever as mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present and aware of where we are.
Join us at The Mind’s Well as we begin our new seven week course aimed at healing through movement and stillness, using yoga and mindfulness exercises, this course is designed to practice key breathing exercises and mindfulness tools that will improve your mood and reduce stress. Each class will start with breathing exercises, followed by 30 minute stretches and the second half of the class will focus on different mindfulness tools.
